FAQ

Where can I buy your tea?

You can find our products at various stockists. Check out our stockist locations here.

Where is your tea made?

Our teas are blended and packed in Australia at our Melbourne-based factory.

Additionally, we source all our ingredients from the tea gardens of the world, depending on seasonality and quality.

Are your teas compostable and plastic-free?

Yes! Our teabags are 100% compostable, made from unbleached filter paper, with no staples or plastic.

What is the best way to store my tea?

To ensure that your cup of tea always tastes good the ideal way to store your tea is in an airtight tin or glass container, keep this out of direct sunlight and if possible, a cool area.

Our caddy loose leaf tins are great because they are completely airtight, and no sunlight can get it!

What is the ingredient ‘flavour’ used in your teas?

At Tea Tonic, we only use natural, organic-suitable flavours to enhance the aroma and taste of our teas — never artificial flavours. Our natural flavours are made from plant-based ingredients like essential oils and extracts.

For example:

1. Natural citral comes from lemongrass, lemon, and oranges.

2. Natural benzaldehyde comes from bitter almonds and cinnamon.

While the exact details of these natural flavours are proprietary, our suppliers must comply with Australian Certified Organic (ACO) standards and disclose this information to the ACO.

We value transparency and are committed to providing teas that are natural and health focused.

Why choose organic?

Organic is 100% natural, pure & simple. Organic food systems such as the products we use here at Tea Tonic, do not rely on synthetic farm fertilizes, herbicides, pesticides or drenches.

Organic Food contains no harmful preservatives or additives & is GMO free. Organic blends use the very best of science and ingenuity with centuries or agricultural expertise.

Are your teas certified organic?

Yes! MOST of our teas are made with certified organic ingredients (Australian Certified Organic - ACO) wherever possible.

When purchasing an organic product always look for a 'Certified Organic' logo such as The Australian Certified Organic Bud to ensure integrity of your food. This certification stamp means that organic farmers have been audited to comply with strict standards.

It takes 3 years to become an Australian Certified Organic Producer, which proves that operators are committed to ensuring that their customers are not exposed to any unwanted extras.

Are Tea Tonic Teas caffiene-free?

We offer both caffeine-free and caffeinated options. Each product page clearly states whether a tea contains caffeine.

Are Tea Tonic teas safe to drink during pregnancy?

All our teas are safe to consume during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Some of our teas have caffeine but it is a personal preference for women who choose to avoid it.

We'd also recommend those in their first trimester to avoid drinking Australiana tea as it contains a naturally occurring highly volatile oil content and essential oils should be avoided during this stage.

Additionally, Licorice Lover and Throat Soother Tea should be avoided for those with high-blood pressure.
